Sofia Bordin
Sofia Bordin (b. 1998, Rome) is a London-based artist working across video, sculpture, installation and writing. Through a logic of strangeness and assemblage, her practice draws inspiration from horror aesthetics, online imagery, forms of nostalgia and personal narrative to investigate the privileged sites in which the paradoxical thought of the unthinkable can take place. In her film work, characters lose coherence and drift through excessive, unfathomable situations, as their worlds gradually disintegrate. Seductive yet repulsive details stick out, too close for comfort, drawing the viewer’s attention to the leftovers of reality.
